Our son is almost sixteen months and that can only mean one thing in the Rigney house…it’s time for Sam to start pulling his weight around here!
We thought an appropriate first chore for a sixteen month old would be raking the leaves in the backyard.
With a little help and instruction from Dad, he was good to go…
The key is to find a rake that is the perfect size for your kid, not taller or wider than your child, otherwise they might get distracted from the task at hand…
Look, Momma, I found a rock!
That’s nice sweetie, now get back to work!
Yes, mam!
And the reward he had been waiting for…

Second to last picture… priceless. Remind me to tell you about the idea I had when I saw it. I have a very similar picture of JJ at about the same age in the leaves! Love the shorts with the vest.
