an impromptu, 18-minute, windy, cold, overcast, and hilarious photo shoot

January 15, 2011

Marian and I decided (at the last minute!) to get together the evening before I left for Minnesota for a very brief, outdoor photo shoot of her family.  Sounds great, right?!  Well, it was one of the most windy, frigid, and overcast days, but that didn’t stop us!

We decided to have fun with it and see what pictures we could get.  It was really cold (for Texans, at least!) and the kids were great sports, we all just laughed to keep ourselves warm.

Here are some of my favorites, both pictures and people…

wow…these photos are the best! They took my breath away. You are amazing. Any chance I could hire you to come out to Elk River one day to get some photos of us? We would love it.

Dear Jen! I just started reading your blog because I am taking a class from your husband at Bethlehem and I clicked on your photography link and then clicked on this and I had worlds collide: I look on Apartment Therapy now and then and last year I had seen these awesome bunkbeds that a family had suspended from the walls with cables for their three boys. When I went to that mom’s blog it was your friends the Andersons and I was excited that they were Christians (and not Mormons — though I do love a few Mormon Mom blogs (-:). So I followed her blog for awhile until she has a hiatus from posting. Anyway — I remembered seeing her post this photo shoot on her blog — and lo and behold you were the photographer-friend. That is a weird obscure crossing of worlds. Anyhoo — I am having fun wandering around your blog in the half hour I have between when I get my younger kids down for naps and my 1st grader needs picked up from the bus drop-off. Thankful for all the beauty you “see” with your camera and words. Thank you for blogging!
