A few months ago, I gave away 5 copies of Rachel Jankovic’s book, Loving the Little Years. So many of you commented to win a copy that I regretted only giving 5 away. So, I’ve decided to give 5 more copies away today! (And in case you are wondering why we have so many of these books in the first place, when my husband learned how much I loved this book, he bought a case of them during a half-price sale for me to give to my friends and blog readers.)

Lately I’ve loved watching our daughter “read” to herself!
I love that my daughter finds such joy in music. It may seem like a simple thing, but every time I watch her blow her tiny breath into a harmonica or make up a silly dance to Uncle Austin’s guitar playing, I am reminded of the power of joy to impact those around you. The whole room lights up. This is the way it is in life – we are drawn to those filled with joy no matter what our situation. Watching her filled with joy encourages me to foster it in my own life and pass that joy along to others. 🙂

I have been wanting to read this book since the last time you posted about it (and a few other friends have also recommended it). One of the things I love most about our daughter Elliana is how she fits perfectly with our family. Another thing I love is watching her grow and learn new things every day. Oh, and one more thing… I love telling her funny stories about my old roommates from college 🙂
I love singing with my 13 month old.
i can’t resist telling you that i love my kids’ breath after they wake up from a nap. when stella used to nap, i’d get her up and say, “let me smell your stinky breath”. out of habit she’d just open her mouth. roxie has the best breath of the three because she isn’t eating anything yet. i think this must be some kind of primal/maternal thing. i am aware of how strange this sounds!
oh goodness, where to even begin! in order to not write an entire book myself in this one little post, I will try to stick to only one. 🙂 I absolutely adore the tenderness I see in my sweet boys…I hold both my babies for quite a while before laying them down to sleep each night. we sing, dance, cuddle…and pray. it is when I start to pray that the hot tears start to make their way down my face. it never fails. my heart is so full and overflows with thankfulness for their little lives. in these precious moments, my Kale baby will pat my back, or play softly with my hair, or so very gently start to rub my arm. be still my soul. my sweet Madden starts to hold me just a little tighter and snuggle that much deeper into my neck. what tender love. I have been completely swept off my feet…
I think this is such a thoughtful gesture, Jenny…and what a kind hubby to help make it possible. : )
my two little ones are in an orphange in rwanda and i still don’t know if they’re weeks or months from my arms…one of the things i love about them right now is how much their dad loves them…this morning, like every monday, he woke up at 4:30 and went to donate plasma…all his “blood money” 🙂 goes towards bringing them home…
well, I have to be honest. I don’t have kids.I am only eighteen but my mom just had a baby last October…and I know she has learned so much from this baby…to just enjoy him. So I know she would loooooooove this book!!!!! Please pick me!!! 😀
for my wife – we have a 2 yr old and she is truly in the trenches w/ this little guy as i go to work. we love his tender heart and growing in knowledge of Jesus!

I love to watch how quickly my 10-month-old is learning new things. It seems almost daily that she aquires a new skill or can make a new sound. Such fun and amazing times!
I loved it when Abigail went to her first VBS, As she walked away from us she turned around and said “I love you Mom and Dad! See you when you come back and pick me up.” Made my heart melt!
My proudest Mommy moment was watching my little boy graduate kindergarten, and sing the ABC’s, counting to 100, and cheerfuly waving as he was on stage. Screaming and waving at the end of the graduation ceremony “I love you Mommy and Daddy” brought tears of joy to me.
My other favorite recent memory is when i caught my 6 year old picking his nose, and eating the contents. He happily stuck out his finger to me and said “want to share?”
Though I am unmarried and don’t have any children, I am currently surrounded by my three nieces and nephew (I’m “nannying” for my sister while she is recovering from having her fourth) and I know my sister would appreciate this book.
Each of my nieces and my nephew have their own funny, dear personalities and provide much scope for humor and sanctification. ; )
One of the things I’ve cherished while being here is the bright and cheerful way that my two-year-old nephew comes waddling into the kitchen every morning; he’s still in cloth diapers at this point, which accounts for the waddling but that doesn’t stop him from taking his usual place on the kitchen counter as I finish up breakfast. I love this Little Man. : )
I love how my children were perfectly made for my sanctification and joy. I love their perfect little booties when they run around naked without any shame!! I love the grace given to me to parent each day regardless of my mistakes and how quickly they forgive me.
I love when my son stops what he is doing to find me and tell me “I love you, Mommy”. Melts my heart.
Timing is so funny; I’ve just been thinking about this book today. I read your post several months ago & bought a copy — then immediately bought several copies (during the 1/2 off sale :)) to pass along to other mommy friends. I am seriously considering buying several more to include in baby shower gifts and just have on hand to encourage other moms…this is a seriously wonderful book. My favorite parenting book that I’ve read so far (not that I’ve read a lot…but this one’s great).
Anyway, I’ll stop gushing now & will take a shot at winning another copy!
One thing I love about my kids: watching their imaginations at work, especially my son and daughter who are very close in age (2 & 3)…I adore watching them put on their little backpacks and “go on ‘ventures” together around the house. 🙂
