our gingerbread house

December 10, 2012

Sam is at quite an excitable age right now.  There’s something about being three and a half that just makes things (every thing), no matter how simple, absolutely thrilling in his little world When I brought our gingerbread kit home from the store, it took everything in him to wait until Peter was down for a nap before we could begin.

During Advent season, we try to plan one “wintry” activity to do together every day (decorate our tree, bake Christmas cookies, take a Jammie Ride to go look at Christmas lights, build a snowman, etc. etc.).  Now that Sam is a bit older, this is so much fun.  One activity last week was building our gingerbread house- a first for Sam!

We had a great time and Sam was very pleased with his work, as he continually reminded me: “It’s looking really delicious, Mom!” and “I think I’m just going to sit at the table and look at our house for a bit longer, okay?!”
