Thiel Family Top 80-77

It has been five months since I last posted an update on sweet Henryk.  While we were in Texas over the Christmas holiday, many of our friends and family (who do not know the Thiel family personally, but who’ve been praying faithfully) asked me to give them an update on this precious boy.

On January 6, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, sweet Henryk passed away.  His mother, Emily, wrote a beautiful obituary in honor of her son.  You can read more of their story on their blog and pray for them in the upcoming weeks, months, and years as they walk this hard- though not hopeless- road of grief and sadness.

I was so thankful to be able to fly back from Texas early to attend the funeral and burial for Henryk.  In the short time that I knew him, I loved him.  And I love him still.  The times that I got to hold him and kiss his sweet little head are precious memories to me.

If one were to ask me where my thoughts have been or what’s been on my heart as of late, my response is consistently the same.

It’s Henryk.

It’s Emily.

It’s Michael and it’s sweet Lily.

Through burning tears and a heavy heart, I’m thinking about and praying for this family who I’ve come to love so very much.

It has been a long nine months since we all learned about Henryk’s unique condition, and in the rececnt words of Emily…

“…throughout all of those 9 months we have been helped and held by God.  He has helped us to work through the terrible emotions, and He helps us still.  The sadness is great because the loss is great and that is the way it should be.”

Thank you for your update on the beautiful Henyrk. I am so very sad to hear of his passing. Please please please send our heartfelt love and prayers to this beautiful family. There are no words to express their pain. I wish i could just sit with them at this time.

What a sweet family! There is a ministry started here from a couple at our church who lost their baby called Hope Mommies. It is precious. She has a retreat every year at a camp around here where 35 women come and gather to share and worship together, they have a strong bond. The dad graduated from Moody Bible and he fills in and preaches at our church, so they are real solid. She may want to check into it online. They direct Camp Eagle close to us. k

Thank you for sharing. “….but that the works of God might be displayed in him.” It is only a faithful, obedient family that takes refuge in those words.
