About Our Blog

I started this blog in the winter of 2008 to share the news of our long-awaited pregnancy with family and friends. Since then, it has become a place where we enjoy chronicling our lives and those of our children. Still, with the same purpose in mind- to share of God’s faithfulness in the life and times of our family.

Blogging, for me, is a secondary priority that overflows from our very full lives. This blog is simply a small window- a glimpse– into our little world- never intended to replace the real thing.

It has become a wonderfully fun and creative outlet for me, and hopefully something for our children to one day enjoy.

I’ve written about how I blog once before, but this quote I mention bears repeating…

“Every day is complicated, messy, and full of friction. And every day has glorious or cozy moments worth celebrating. I seldom bother to chronicle the friction and the mess because writing time is fleeting and precious—and childhood even more so. I’d rather capture the small joys that I might forget—or take for granted—if I don’t take time to set them down in words. I don’t want anyone to be under the impression that things are always perfect around here! Heaven knows we are anything but. Perfect, frictionless, orderly? Nope. Happy? Most of the time!” -M. Wiley

I tend to chronicle a lot of ordinary, daily things here at The Rigneys and am happy to have you here reading along. I welcome your comments…I love them actually! Makes me feel like we’re friends even if we’ve never met.

So thank you for stopping by, and please, feel free to stay awhile!
